Pelosi's refusal to hold EVEN BASIC IMPEACHMENT HEARINGS leads to this: Revelations that Bush and Cheney WATCHED LIVE TORTURE SESSIONS from WH!
We here at DemNationUSA have long held that Speaker Nancy Pelosi's REFUSAL to hold EVEN BASIC Impeachment Hearings is a national disgrace - a sign that Speaker Pelosi is more aligned with the neo-con War Lobby, than she is with the Democratic voters whose blood, sweat, donations, and efforts gave her the Speaker's Chair in Congress.
Now Speaker Pelosi's disgusting obstruction of true justice - her "see no evil, hear no evil, speak of NO crimes from the Bush-Cheney White House!" re the serial lawbreaking, corruption, lies-to-war, illegal surveillance, torture, and other criminal violations of the law coming from the Bush-Cheney administration - has taken a new hit. For we learn that not only did Bush, Cheney and their senior cabinet and administration officials DISCUSS TORTURE TECHNIQUES in "DOZENS" of White House policy session...

....but according to Washington Post writer Daniel Froomkin, Bush, Cheney, Rice, Aschroft, Powell, and others even SAT IN on LIVE TORTURE SESSIONS of Iraqi prisoners vide-transmitted to the White House from American prisons!!
Congratulations, Speaker Pelosi. Your "modern" assumption as the first woman to hold the Speaker's chair in America's democratic Congress harkens not to progress.... but to the reigns of Queens Catherine de Medici of France, Queen Elizabeth of England, and Queen Catherine II of Russia, who all at times ordered the torture of their enemies.

DISCUSSIONS WERE SO DETAILED, ABC's sources said, that SOME INTERROGATIONS WERE virtually CHOREOGRAPHED by a White House advisory group. Top Bush aides, including Vice President Cheney, micromanaged the torture of terrorist suspects from the White House basement, according to an ABC News report aired last night.
Discussions were so detailed, ABC's sources said, that some interrogation sessions were virtually choreographed by a White House advisory group. In addition to Cheney, the group included then-national security adviser Condoleezza Rice, then-defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld, then-secretary of state Colin Powell, then-CIA director George Tenet and then-attorney general John Ashcroft.
At least one member of the club had some qualms. ABC reports that Ashcroft "was troubled by the discussions. He agreed with the general policy decision to allow aggressive tactics and had repeatedly advised that they were legal. But he argued that senior White House advisers should not be involved in the grim details of interrogations, sources said.
"According to a top official, Ashcroft asked aloud after one meeting: 'Why are we talking about this in the White House? History will not judge this kindly.'"
